Run by CEO Matthew Brown, The Imaginarium Studios is one of Britain’s leading production companies and performance capture studios; working on projects across a number of entertainment mediums, such as Star Wars VII – The Force Awakens, Coldplay’s music video Adventure of A Lifetime, video game Battlefield 1, and a visualisation of Ariel in the The Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of The Tempest. Based in Ealing in West London, the company develops and co-produces its own content as well supplying their facilities and services on a consultancy basis. The Imaginarium Studios offers the complete range of performance capture services across pre-production, production and post-production. Its motion capture system consists of over 90 Vicon optical cameras which allow a performer’s body movement to be recorded. Performance capture, which focuses on facial movements in order to convey emotion, is conducted using head-mounted cameras that track every subtle expression of the human face.
