Launched in 2006, by multi award-winning writer Tony Jordan, captivating storytelling is our passion. From intriguing adaptations to pioneering originals, we’ve gained global reach and a reputation for producing compelling and much-loved dramas, working with established and emerging talent. Our diverse slate includes some of the UK’s most successful, original and recognised shows for major broadcasters, spanning a range of genres. In June 2021, multinational content creator and producer Asacha Media Group (AMG), acquired a controlling stake in Red Planet Pictures in a deal that will further the ambitions of both companies in producing high end, popular drama that resonates on a global stage. Recent hit shows include BBC One crime drama, Death in Paradise, and Jane Austen’s Sanditon. Plus, Dickensian, The Ark, Babs, The Passing Bells, and Sky One’s action-adventure, Hooten & The Lady. In addition to filming the eleventh series of Death in Paradise, this year also sees literary thriller, Our House, go into production as well as seasons two and three of Sanditon. Our broad range of projects in development includes adaptations of The Harpy by Megan Hunter and The Exphoria Code, from The New York Times bestselling author, Antony Johnston. With bold productions and diverse, creative collaboration at the heart of Red Planet Pictures, we also continue to discover, nurture and champion the next generation of voices through our writing initiative, The Red Planet Prize.
