Climate change is such a big problem that unfortunately many believe that one's own behavior in everyday life has no effect on the climate. This is wrong. Everything we do causes CO2 emissions. What we eat, how we get around and what we buy. So every day we have the opportunity to make a difference when we know these effects. The intention of Changers is to make this impact on the climate visible and to enable a playful competition between cities and countries. For lasting motivation, participants collect one Climate-Coin for every 5 kg of CO2 saved by walking, cycling and using public transit. Coins can be exchanged for tree plantings, vouchers from climate partners and for the purchase of lottery tickets in a climate lottery. Climate partners are municipal companies such as swimming pools, the regional public transport system, the local supply and disposal company and local retailers, restaurants and cultural institutions. In this way, we combine the needs of cities to reduce individual fossil fuel traffic with the promotion of the local economy. This reduces air, noise and climate pollution and improves the quality of life in the cities.
