GlobalFoundries operates multiple semiconductor fabrication facilities (fabs) across the globe, providing a variety of advanced technology nodes for manufacturing semiconductor wafers. These facilities are equipped to produce chips based on different process technologies, including FinFET and FD-SOI (Fully Depleted Silicon On Insulator). GlobalFoundries has five 200mm fabrication plants in Singapore, and two 300 mm fabrication plants each in Germany and Singapore, along with a new 300mm fabrication plant in Malta, Saratoga County, New York. GlobalFoundries was established on March 2, 2009 and is headquartered in Santa Clara, California.
