MicroEra Power
MicroEra Power's patented tunable thermal energy storage (TTES) system is a companion technology for chillers or heat pumps to provide buildings or data centers with flexible electrified heating/cooling loads for greater resilience, reduced HVAC capital and operating costs, and longer equipment life. THERMAplus™ stores thermal energy to shift heating and cooling loads to low-cost, low-carbon, off-peak or renewable-intensive energy supplies. Integrating MicroEra Power's TTES in a geothermal heating/cooling system supports downsizing the groundloop by 80%, bringing the goldstandard for heating and cooling into a viable price point and footprint. Distributed Long-Duration Energy Storage (LDES) is critical for managing grid peak demands in the face of EV charging, data center growth, and onshoring manufacturing. MicroEra Power uses phase change materials, requires NO LITHIUM, presents NO FIRE hazard, and storage performance is consistent over a 25 year lifespan -- no matter how many times our phase change material is cycled. Our work is in collaboration with U.S. DOE (SBIR Phase 2 completed); NYSERDA; LeadingCities; RMI's Third Derivative; and most recently the Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator (IN2) administered by NREL.
